Ever After - 2023

Ever After reimagines the Cinderella story, following the independent and intelligent Danielle (Drew Barrymore) as she fights for equality, befriends Leonardo da Vinci, and romances Prince Henry (Dougray Scott). The slippers are jeweled, not glass, but who could forget Danielle's butterfly wings from the ball?

In celebration of the film's 25th anniversary, Drew Barrymore decided to host a mini cast reunion on a March 2023 episode of The Drew Barrymore Show. She welcomed on Melanie Lynskey and Megan Dodds, who played her stepsisters, as well as Dougray Scott via video. All actors appeared in their iconic costumes from the film.

Legally Blonde - 2020

Legally Blonde, released in 2001, spawned a sequel (with another one on the way);a Broadway musical; and according to the ABA Journal, "influenced a generation of women lawyers." Reese Witherspoon stars as Elle Woods, a college senior and sorority president from Southern California majoring in fashion merchandising. Elle attempts to get a law degree from Harvard after her boyfriend, Warner Huntington III (Matthew Davis), who plans to attend Harvard Law School, dumps her because he doesn't think she's serious enough for his future ambitions.

Elle is pretty smart despite blond stereotypes, and also happens to be a pretty good lawyer, even as a student. While serving as an intern on a high-profile case, she ends up helping to win the case and graduatesat the top of her Harvard class.

In October 2020, the cast ofLegally Blondegathered for a virtual reunion during the coronavirus pandemic to raise funds for the nonprofitWorld Central Kitchen's #ChefsforAmerica program,provides meals to families and seniors in need.

Reese Witherspoon was joined by host Chloe Fineman of Saturday Night Live along with her fellow Legally Blonde castmates Matthew Davis (Warner Huntington III), Luke Wilson(Emmett), Selma Blair(Vivian), Jessica Cauffiel (Margot),Jennifer Coolidge(Paulette), Ali Larter (Brooke Taylor Windham), Holland Taylor (Professor Stromwell), and Alanna Ubach (Serena).

Witherspoon said Woods "inspired people to believe in themselves. She just has a true sense of herself and she always wants to see the best in others... I think her spirit is something that we could all use a little bit more of right now."

Among other topics, they discussed behind-the-scenessecrets including the fact that the "bend and snap" scene was supposed to be a full musical number; Witherspoon was sweltering in her first-day-of-school sweater (filmed at UCLA on a hot day); Ubach and Cauffiel helped each other out at their audition; and people still recognizeDavis for being the rottenboyfriend fromLegally Blonde.

The cast answered questions from Fineman, but mostly gushed over and were genuinely excited to see each other. Witherspoon summed up the experience:

This was my college... This is where I went to college. I didn't finish college but I finishedLegally Blonde.We all... made this movie together that has inspired so many young people. It's just such a gift... Every time people come up to me and tell me they love this movie, I give it all to you.

Pitch Perfect - 2020

In 2012, thefictional a cappella college women's singing group The Barden Bellas of Barden University became a hit with moviegoers inPitch Perfect. First-year student and aspiring music producer Beca(Anna Kendrick) lends a new dynamic to the group, co-led by Aubrey (Anna Camp) and Chloe (Brittany Snow).The Bellasjoinedvoices again for two sequels to the musical comedy.

The Barden Bellas - including Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, Hailee Steinfeld, Anna Camp, and Brittany Snow - reunited virtually in August 2020 to perform an a cappella, socially distanced version of Beyonce's song "Love on Top" as a fundraiser. Proceeds from downloads and streams of their version of the tune went to UNICEF to benefit children in Lebanon and around the world.

The video opens with Pitch Perfect commentatorJohn Smith (John Michael Higgins)saying, "I'm afraid I have some bad news. The Barden Bellas have gotten back together again. It seems that not even a quarantine can prevent them from harassing us with another musical performance."

The Parent Trap - 2020

In the 1998 WaltDisney film The Parent Trap, a remake of the1961 version starring Hayley Mills, Lindsey Lohan made her big-screen debut as separated-from-birthtwins Hallie Parker and Annie James. The identical tweens meet for the first time at camp and decide to switch places when they go back home to get their divorced mom and dad (played byDennis QuaidandNatasha Richardson) back together.

In July 2020, Katie Couric brought together members of The Parent Trap cast along with director-writer Nancy Meyers and producer-writer Charles Shyer for a virtual reunion via Instagram. Cast participants were Lindsay Lohan (Hallie Parker/Annie James), Dennis Quaid (the girls' dad, Nick Parker), Elaine Hendrix (Nick'sfiancee, Meredith Blake),Lisa Ann Walter(Hallie's nanny, Chessy), and Simon Kunz (Annie's butler, Martin).

Shyer said he and Myers knew "within two or three minutes" Lohan was the right actress for the film when she auditioned. "She had that quality that just sort of leapt up to you and pulled you in," Meyers said.

Hendrix talked about the online "#JusticeForMeredithBlake" campaign for her much-maligned character.

Natasha Richardson, who played Hallie and Annie's mom Elizabeth James, perished in 2009 after a ski incident, and several of the participants recalled her fondly."Natasha had such an elegance and grace, and she was so maternal to me," Lohan said.

The reunion served as a fundraiser for World Central Kitchen.

Ghostbusters - 2014, 2020

Talk about a perfect comedy. Starring Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd, this ghost hunter slime-filled movie, directed by Ivan Reitman in 1984, was nominated for Oscars, Golden Globes, Grammys, and more. It quickly became a cult classic.

The original Ghostbusters cast (minus Harold Ramis, who has since passed), graced the cover ofEntertainment Weekly's reunion issue in 2014."I knew it was gonna be a huge movie," Bill Murray said at the cover shoot. "At that point, we were still watching Yankee Doodle Dandy on TV, so I thought we had a shot."

Then, in 2020,Murray,Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver, Annie Potts, and directorIvan Reitmanvirtually came together for Josh Gad's Reunited ApartYouTube series. They spent time reminiscing about their favorite parts of filming the original blockbuster hit, and how Murray knew early on the movie was going to be big.

High School Musical - 2020

High School Musical, the 2006 Disney Channel film about the East High Wildcats learning how to accept each other and work together, aired to 7.7 million viewers in its initial broadcast. It spawned several sequels, made superstars out of the cast - including Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, and Ashley Tisdale - and most importantly, taught us that "We're All in This Together."

On April 16, 2020, ABC airedThe Disney Family Singalongspecial, where stars recorded themselves singing their favorite Disney tunes from their homes. The grand finale was a surprise High School Musical reunion featuring the leading actors from the 2006 film - Ashley Tisdale, Vanessa Hudgens,Corbin Bleu,Lucas Grabeel, Monique Coleman - and director Kenny Ortega.

Though he didn't participatein the singalong due to network connectivity problems,Zac Efron briefly appeared to introducehis former co-stars.
